Is almost 100% sure that UPS Stole her package, theft over $1000

On January 5th, I started to stop panicking about the status of my Macbook Air which was dropped off at a UPS Store for delivery; this is because my husband had just received notification from Apple indicating "Your package has been received at the Apple return center and a refund of $1,188.48 has been initiated for your return". I was so happy and I figured I may as well delete the blog I started.

However, on January 6th, at 4:44PM, my husband received a voicemail from UPS regarding their investigation of the package that was dropped off at the UPS Store. This was a little alarming since we thought the package was delivered!

I also noticed that the UPS website was updated to indicate "your shipment is currently within the UPS network; however an unforeseen even has occurred which could result in a change to the scheduled delivery date".

I called Apple in the evening to talk to Apple and find out the status of the package. I just wanted to know that the package was in fact delivered. Apple, although helpful as always, would not confirm the package really was received; instead, they said that "the return was cleared"; they also went over the history they have on file and said that a trace was set, an investigation was initiated and that Apple and UPS "worked things out". I wasn't sure what this meant precisely, but it seemed clear to me that the package was never delivered.

Apple was able to provide me with an update on when the reimbursement would be received (what a relief!!).

I am not sure we will really know what happened until we are able to touch base with UPS. My husband called UPS was only able to leave a voicemail for them.

I will let you know what happens next!!
